Although sports activities were affected from this week due to bad weather conditions, with the pleasant weather, Sports Zone Magam under the leadership of Shri Balbir Singh Sodhi, District Officer of Youth Services and Sports Department in Budgam district of central Kashmir. Organized a cross-country race for under-14 and u-17 childrens under the inter-school zonal level boys category in which more than a hundred childrens associated with the zone participated with great enthusiasm and this race started at 8 am from Badran Staff.After walking the childrens for two kilometers, the race ended at the sports ground Badran, while senior officer of the police department flagged off the childrens as a special guest, while Zonal Officer Ghulam Nabi was also present on the occasion.During the race, although the local people were encouraging the childrens ,the children were also trying hard to outdo each other.In the under-17 category,Zameer Ahmad ,Furqan Ahmad & Irfan Hussain got ist three position holders and in u-17 Shakir Ahmed, Mubashir Ahmad and Mahfooz Ali occupied the first, second and third positions respectively.It is clear that the sports department has also got access to the police and health team to monitor the childrens.Finally the closing ceremony was held at Badran Sports Ground where the Chief Guests distributed prizes and certificates to the successful childrens.
