Srinagar:06:12:25: ANB : the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday issued a formal statement responding to social-media posts alleging administrative delays and irregularities in connection with the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examination scheduled for 7 December 2025.
The statement said the claims being circulated online are “misleading”, noting that Lok Bhavan received the relevant file on 2 December 2025, and that the proposal related solely to age relaxation for candidates. It stressed that no lapse occurred on the part of the LG or the LG Office at any stage.
According to the statement, the file was reviewed and returned the same day with a query about whether it was logistically feasible to introduce changes in eligibility criteria, including age relaxation at such a late stage, with the examination only five days away.
The LG Office added that no response was received for four days after the file was sent back.
“I fully sympathize with young aspirants,” the statement read, underscoring the importance of transparency and timely communication in recruitment processes.
The administration further noted that the JKPSC advertisement notice was issued on 22 August 2025, and the examination date of 7 December 2025 was formally announced through a public notice on 6 November 2025.
The statement aims to counter allegations that the government delayed decisions affecting the exam or the eligibility of candidates shortly before the scheduled date. ANB
