Poonch, Feb 20: ANB,Ghulam Ali Khatana, Nominated Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), on Thursday described the Union Budget 2026–27 as a “historic roadmap” towards the realization of Viksit Bharat 2047, stating that it lays a strong foundation for inclusive growth, economic resilience, and national empowerment. Addressing a press conference at the BJP Office in Poonch, Khatana said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has transitioned from what he termed an era marked by scams, weak governance, and policy paralysis to becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy.
He stated that the Budget places special emphasis on infrastructure expansion, employment generation, growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), youth empowerment, digital innovation, agricultural reforms, and the development of border areas. According to him, the financial blueprint reflects a strategic and long-term vision aimed at strengthening India’s economic architecture while ensuring equitable development across regions.
Highlighting provisions for Jammu and Kashmir, Khatana said that special allocations have been earmarked for border districts such as Poonch. He noted that increased funding for road infrastructure, connectivity projects, tourism promotion, power generation initiatives, and skill development programmes would accelerate socio-economic transformation in these areas.
“The Budget signifies a decisive shift from entitlement-based policies to empowerment-driven development,” he said, adding that the focus on transparency, accountability, and economic strength would ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.
Khatana further asserted that Budget 2026, 27 would enhance India’s global standing, boost investor confidence, and enable border regions like Poonch to emerge as active stakeholders in the journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047. ANB
