Jammu, November 18: BJP Jammu & Kashmir Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra has said that recent security breakthroughs across the country have once again exposed the dark networks aiding radical elements and the coordinated attempts by vested interests to twist narratives for political benefit.
Dr. Mahotra said that while the Modi government has tightened its crackdown on terrorism in all forms, certain forces—especially within the digital space—are trying to exploit every situation to mislead citizens, weaken institutions, and sow distrust for their own opportunistic agendas.
He said the arrests of doctors, engineers, researchers, and other highly educated professionals in various states reflect a disturbing reality: terror recruiters are increasingly targeting educated individuals. He added that this trend is not new globally, as radicalised professionals have caused devastation across regions, breaking public trust in respected fields like medicine, engineering and academia.
Launching a strong attack on political opportunists and digital influencers, Dr. Mahotra said that instead of condemning terrorism, some groups immediately communalise the issue and portray suspects as victims. These “propaganda factories,” he said, deliberately target security agencies, question every action, undermine morale, and obstruct operations that could save innocent lives.
He warned that such narrative manipulation emboldens radicals, confuses young minds, and directly weakens India’s fight against terrorism.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Dr. Mahotra said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership since 2014, India has witnessed a steady decline in terror incidents—one of the lowest in more than a decade. He credited stronger intelligence networks, improved border security, dismantling of terror financing channels, and the government’s zero-tolerance policy.
Drawing a sharp contrast with previous administrations, he said “Congress at the Centre and NC–PDP in J&K failed miserably. Their appeasement politics, poor governance and divisive narratives allowed terror ecosystems to grow.”
He urged citizens to remain vigilant, reject misinformation, and stand firmly with India’s security forces in their efforts to safeguard the nation.
