Lieutenant Governor Attends HRDS India’s ‘Veer Savarkar International Impact Award’ in New Delhi

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that Veer Savarkar, “the valiant son of Mother India,” endured immense hardships, yet dedicated every moment of his life to the nation’s freedom and progress. He added that the people of India today are working to build a strong, Aatma-Nirbhar and Viksit Bharat, echoing Savarkar’s vision.

The Lieutenant Governor was speaking at the ‘Veer Savarkar International Impact Award’ ceremony organised by the High-Range Rural Development Society (HRDS India) in New Delhi.

In his address, he praised HRDS India for its initiative to highlight Savarkar’s unmatched contribution to the nation and for efforts to restore his legacy in the collective memory of citizens. Paying homage to Savarkar, he recalled his lifelong campaigns and pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle.

“Savarkar represents India’s strength, resolve, prosperity, perseverance, culture and aspirations. For him, India was not just a geographical entity but the centre of human civilisation,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor noted that the national movement inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Panch Pran’ would help fulfil Savarkar’s vision. He also emphasised the need to counter false narratives in order to safeguard historical truth and national pride.

Congratulating the award recipients, he lauded their contributions to society and nation-building and urged them to continue guiding humanity towards peace, progress and prosperity.

He added that the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award sends a strong message that the time has come to reclaim India’s ancient glory and commit to the goal of achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

The event was attended by Swami Atma Nambi, President of HRDS India; Dr. S. Krishna Kumar, Chairman Emeritus; K.G. Venugopal, Vice President; Aji Krishnan, Founder–Secretary, HRDS India; members of the organisation, and distinguished guests from various fields.
