Srinagar, Sept 23: ANB ; The stage is set for one of the grandest sporting spectacles in the Valley as Srinagar prepares to host the Kashmir Marathon 2025 on November 2. The event, being billed as the Autumn Race, will feature international-standard competition and a prize pool worth an impressive ₹3 crore, making it one of the most lucrative marathons in the country. Officials told the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB that The marathon will be held in two categories , Full Marathon (42.195 km) and Half Marathon (21.0975 km) — with separate prizes for men and women athletes. Organizers said the initiative is aimed at not only promoting sports and fitness but also placing Kashmir firmly on the global sporting map.
Prize Money Highlights:
In the Full Marathon, winners in both men’s and women’s categories will take home ₹25 lakh each, with cash awards up to the fifth position.
The Half Marathon will see prizes of ₹15 lakh for the top spot in both men’s and women’s sections, with graded rewards down to fifth place for women and second place for men.
Officials expect the marathon to attract elite runners from across India and abroad, alongside thousands of local participants, fitness enthusiasts, and youth from the Union Territory.
With the autumn landscape of Srinagar providing a scenic backdrop, the event is also expected to boost tourism and showcase the Valley’s natural beauty to a global audience.
