KATHUA, July 08: In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Kathua Police, under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. Shobhit Saksena (IPS), arrested two individuals and recovered approximately 7.61 grams of heroin (Chitta) at Lohai Bridge near Nagrota, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Basohli.
On July 7, 2025, a naka was laid by a police team from PS Basohli, led by SDPO Basohli Sh. Suresh Kumar and SHO PS Basohli Prob. DySP Miss Geetanjli Gupta, in the presence of Executive Magistrate Basohli Sh. Bhajan Lal. During the checking operation, two suspects heading towards Basohli were intercepted.
Upon physical search, around 7.61 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. The accused were identified as:
1. Rahul Sharma, S/o Pawan Kumar, R/o Mahanpur, Basohli, District Kathua
2. Rahul Singh, S/o Shaam Singh, R/o Mahanpur, Basohli
The narcotic substance was seized on the spot, and both individuals were taken into custody. A case under FIR No. 64/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Basohli, and further investigation is ongoing.
