Following a comprehensive house-to-house survey conducted by 323 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the draft Electoral Rolls for the 27-Budgam and 77-Nagrota Assembly Constituencies were published on 8th April 2025 by the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to invite claims and objections.
A total of 279 Booth Level Agents (BLAs), appointed collectively by various political parties, participated in the verification of these draft rolls.
After reviewing and resolving all submitted claims and objections, the final Electoral Rolls were officially published by the respective EROs on 5th May 2025 and shared with all political parties.
As per Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, any individual may now file an appeal against the decision of the concerned ERO with the respective District Magistrate.
If the appellant is not satisfied with the District Magistrate’s decision, a further appeal may be filed with the Chief Electoral Officer, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
