BJP Opposes Omar Abdullah’s Resolution, Seeks Clarity from Congress
Srinagar, September 25: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma, on Friday opposed the resolution moved by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, describing it as “controversial and unacceptable.”
Sharma said the resolution includes the special status resolution passed by the Assembly in 2024 and asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not accept it.
“Omar Abdullah has brought a resolution that includes the 2024 special status resolution. This is a totally controversial and unacceptable resolution, which the BJP will not tolerate at all,” Sharma said.
He also sought clarity from the Congress party over its position on the issue, asking whether it supports the resolution concerning Article 370 and autonomy or stands with the government.
“Congress should clear its position—whether it stands with the 370 and autonomy resolution or with the government. One of the two positions should be made clear,” he said.
