Cultural Programmes Enrich IFFJ&K 2026, Showcase J&K’s Rich Artistic Heritage

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 9: The ongoing International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJ&K) is being complemented by a series of vibrant cultural programmes organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) at prominent venues across Srinagar. The initiative has brought nearly 400 local artists into the festival’s cultural activities, providing them an opportunity to showcase Jammu & Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions and performing arts before festival delegates, guests and local audiences. The programmes are being held at several iconic locations, including the Jhelum Riverfront at Rajbagh, Old Zero Bridge, Sher-i-Kashmir Park, Nishat Garden and SKICC. Featuring traditional music, folk performances and other forms of performing arts, the programmes offer visitors and local audiences an opportunity to experience the distinctive cultural traditions of Jammu & Kashmir alongside the international cinematic showcase. On the concluding day of the festival, September 10, cultural programmes will be held at designated venues from 5 pm to 7 pm. The initiative has added a strong cultural dimension to IFFJ&K, bringing together cinema, music, folk traditions and performing arts while providing a platform for local artists to present the diverse cultural identity of Jammu & Kashmir before a wider audience.
