Srinagar, August 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council on Friday organised a felicitation ceremony to honour partner organisations for their support in the successful conduct of the first-ever Khelo India Water Sports Festival – 2025 at Dal Lake, Srinagar.
Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, presented certificates of appreciation to various government departments and organisations, acknowledging their “invaluable contribution” in ensuring smooth execution of the national sporting event.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafeez praised the coordinated efforts of all participating agencies, noting that their dedication had been instrumental in the seamless management of the festival. “Our collective efforts have helped elevate Jammu and Kashmir’s standing in the national sports arena, and we hope to carry this momentum forward in future events,” he said.
Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, was also present at the ceremony.

The three-day festival, held at the iconic Dal Lake, featured a range of competitive water sports and drew participants and spectators from across the country, marking a milestone for Jammu and Kashmir in the field of adventure and aquatic sports.
