Srinagar, September 14:
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir, Anand Jain, on Saturday said that Jashn-e-Dal has emerged as a vibrant bridge between the police and the public, fostering trust, harmony, and youth engagement through sports and cultural activities.
Speaking at the sidelines of the ongoing event, Jain highlighted that such initiatives not only provide a platform for young talent but also help channelize their energy towards positive pursuits. “Jashn-e-Dal has inspired the youth to take up sports with renewed enthusiasm. It has become a celebration of togetherness, peace, and healthy competition,” the ADGP remarked.
Underscoring the region’s growing sports culture, Jain announced that Srinagar will host the prestigious All India Judo Championship in October this year. “Nearly 3,000 athletes from across the country are expected to participate, making it one of the biggest sporting events in the Valley,” he said, adding that the championship would further strengthen Kashmir’s image as a hub of talent and sportsmanship.
Officials said the police are keen to sustain such outreach programmes as part of community policing, ensuring that youth remain constructively engaged and motivated to contribute positively to society.
