Wellington, Mar 9:ANB : General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, on Monday visited the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, where he delivered a lecture on the Indian Army’s ongoing transformation and its preparedness to meet future security challenges.
During his address, the Army Chief highlighted the key reforms being undertaken within the Indian Army, progress towards theatreisation, the growing importance of military diplomacy and various initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and future readiness. He emphasised that the evolving strategic environment requires continuous adaptation in organisational structures, capabilities and military doctrine.
General Dwivedi also outlined the organisational, capability and doctrinal changes that are shaping a modern and future-ready force capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges.
On the occasion, the Army Chief interacted with the faculty members, tri-service officers and course participants from friendly foreign countries. He stressed the importance of professional military engagement and the continued exchange of ideas in a dynamic strategic environment.
As part of his visit, General Upendra Dwivedi also presented Commendation Cards to selected personnel in recognition of their exemplary service, professionalism and dedication to duty. ANB
