J&K BJP Steps Up Preparations for Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, Calls for Mass Public Participation
JAMMU, August 8, 2026: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, today chaired a series of organisational meetings at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar to review preparations for the forthcoming Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and other key party programmes.
Rajya Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, and BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan also addressed the meetings.
The meetings reviewed preparations for taking the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across every district, constituency, Mandal, Shakti Kendra and booth of Jammu & Kashmir. Senior party leaders called for intensified grassroots mobilisation to ensure that the Tricolour reaches households across the Union Territory and that the campaign evolves into a broad-based public movement reflecting national unity and patriotism.
Addressing the party functionaries, Sat Sharma said Har Ghar Tiranga is not merely a campaign but a national mission to honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to the country’s independence.
He said India’s freedom was achieved after a prolonged and determined struggle against British rule, and described the National Flag as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, unity and national pride. He urged every BJP worker to work towards ensuring that the Tricolour is displayed at every household in Jammu & Kashmir with due honour and respect.
Sat Sharma directed party leaders to organise Tiranga Yatras in every locality with the participation of booth committees, youth, women, social organisations, ex-servicemen and prominent citizens. He stressed that the campaign should reach every village and ward and witness maximum public participation.
Ashok Koul emphasised the importance of observing Vibhajan Vibhishika Diwas, saying it serves as a reminder to the younger generation of the immense human suffering caused by the Partition of India.
He said lakhs of people were displaced from their ancestral homes, while countless families lost their lives and endured severe hardships during the division of the country. Remembering this painful chapter, he said, is essential to strengthening the collective resolve to safeguard national unity, social harmony and the integrity of the nation and to ensure that such tragedies are never repeated.
