Khawaja Farooq Renzushah presides over spiritual martial arts conclave in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 18: Social activist and Chief Commissioner of Hindustan Scouts & JK Scouts, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, today presided over a spiritual martial arts conclave organised as part of preparations for the upcoming Indo-Nepal Martial Arts Championship.
The event was hosted by Aljawad Art Academy near the historic Bulbulshah-Khumaini Bridge in Bemina, where a training programme for participating athletes was formally inaugurated.
Addressing the gathering, Renzushah welcomed the reopening of the medieval route leading to the ancient Sufi heritage site of Yousmarg, describing it as an important step towards preserving Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural legacy. He highlighted the region’s long-standing traditions of blending physical discipline with spiritual values and encouraged youth to channel their energies into constructive sporting and cultural activities.
The programme featured demonstrations of martial arts and spiritual performances by trained students of the academy, including both boys and girls from participating educational institutions. Representatives of the Youth Hostel Association of India, martial arts experts and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Renzushah also acknowledged the cooperation of residents of Budgam and Srinagar in the construction of the bridge linking the two districts, calling it a symbol of civic harmony. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and other social evils and focus on positive pursuits.
Expressing confidence in the academy’s trainees, he said the athletes preparing for the Indo-Nepal championship are expected to deliver a strong performance and bring recognition to the region.
