LG Manoj Sinha Addresses Closing Ceremony of 20th J&K Police Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament

Srinagar, September 30, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said that those who echo the language of separatists and terrorists insult the sacrifices of martyrs and wound their souls. “The strictest possible action under the law will be taken against such elements. Anyone who disrespects India’s sovereignty or the memories of police martyrs will not be spared,” he asserted.

The Lieutenant Governor was speaking at the Closing Ceremony of the 20th J&K Police Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament in Srinagar.

Paying glowing tributes to the selfless service and supreme sacrifices of J&K Police, LG Sinha said, “The land of Jammu and Kashmir is soaked in the blood of our martyrs from the Police, Army, and CAPFs, who laid down their lives for the integrity of the nation. Our brave hearts gave up their lives to fulfill the dreams of society. The peace, progress, and prosperity we witness today have been made possible by their ultimate sacrifice. Society can never repay this debt, but it must honor our fallen heroes and their families.”

He stressed that Jammu and Kashmir is a symbol of the tradition of sacrifice of India’s brave warriors, and preserving the memories of martyrs is the responsibility of not just the forces but of the entire public.

The Lieutenant Governor also commended J&K Police for its efforts to empower youth through the Civic Action Program, describing it as a vital step towards constructive engagement.

On the occasion, LG Sinha interacted with the players and presented trophies and cash awards to the winning team and outstanding performers of the tournament.

In the final match, J&K Bank defeated Kashmir Avengers Football Club to lift the trophy of the 20th J&K Police Martyr’s Memorial Football Tournament.

The closing ceremony was attended by DGP Shri Nalin Prabhat, Special DG Coordination PHQ Shri S.J.M.
