The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, today met His Excellency Batu Sergeyevich Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, and discussed a range of issues aimed at strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between India and Kalmykia.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to His Excellency for facilitating the grand visit of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha to Kalmykia.
“The visit of the holy relics to this land stands as a symbol of the deep and enduring friendship between India and Russia. As our two nations approach the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027, India looks forward to celebrating this important milestone through a series of bilateral events and activities,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He further informed that an India Festival is being planned in Kalmykia in April 2026, adding that India will make every effort to ensure the event’s grand success.
