LG Manoj Sinha Orders Reopening of Additional Tourist Destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, 14 Tourist Spots to Reopen Immediately Across Kashmir and Jammu Divisions


Jammu, February 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday ordered the reopening of several tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir following a comprehensive security review. The sites had earlier been closed as a precautionary measure.
According to officials, 11 tourist spots in the Kashmir Division will reopen with immediate effect. These include Yousmarg and Doodhpathri in Budgam district; Dandipora Park in Kokernag area of Anantnag; Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian; Astanpora and Tulip Garden in Srinagar; Thajwas Glacier and Hung Park in Ganderbal; and Wullar/Watlab in Baramulla district.
In the Jammu Division, three tourist destinations — Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar — will also reopen immediately.
Officials further stated that four additional tourist sites will resume operations after the clearance of snow. These include Gurez and Athwatoo in Bandipora district and Bangus in Kupwara district in the Kashmir Division, as well as Ramkund in Ramban district in the Jammu Division.
