Jammu, March 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday underscored the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir, urging them to remain deeply rooted in the region’s timeless traditions and rich spiritual heritage.
Addressing Navreh celebrations organised by the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha at Amphalla, the Lieutenant Governor said the Union Territory possesses immense potential to emerge as a vibrant cultural hub and a prosperous region through sustained progress. He emphasized that realizing this vision rests largely on the younger generation.
Expressing optimism, he said the youth must draw strength from ancestral wisdom and work with determination to position Jammu and Kashmir among the country’s developed regions. He added that young people would not only inherit India’s legacy but also redefine and advance it towards a sustainable and progressive future.
Invoking blessings on the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the spiritual significance of Navreh and Navratri, describing them as periods of inner transformation through devotion, discipline, and self-reflection. He noted that worship of Maa Durga and Maa Sharika symbolizes reverence to the primal source of universal शक्ति (power), adding that sincere devotion enables seekers to attain deeper understanding and wisdom.
Elaborating on spiritual practices, he outlined the four stages of devotion—listening, contemplation, internalization, and attaining a state of oneness—and expressed hope that devotees experience this spiritual progression in their lives.
Interacting with participants, the Lieutenant Governor extended greetings for the New Year, wishing peace, prosperity, and renewed hope for all. He also felicitated Padma Shri awardee Brij Lal Bhat on the occasion.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent members of the Kashmiri Pandit community, senior officials, and distinguished citizens from various walks of life.
