Haridwar, February 5, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday attended the idol installation ceremony of Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The spiritual, cultural and Sadguru memorial celebration was organised under the guidance of Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor spoke about the country’s ongoing economic, cultural and spiritual resurgence, saying it is fostering a renewed sense of awareness and confidence in society. With the blessings of revered saints, he said, people are steadily moving toward the vision of a modern and transformed India.
Emphasising India’s age-old civilisational ethos, Sinha noted that the nation’s traditions have always promoted the welfare of humanity and upheld the ideal of the world as one family. He said the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is increasingly being embraced globally as a guiding principle for peace and harmony.
He added that India’s ancient culture has consistently stood for unity, collective well-being and prosperity, never division. Describing India as the cradle of one of the world’s most advanced civilizations, he said the country is poised to contribute to lasting global peace and harmony.
Highlighting India’s growing global influence, the Lieutenant Governor said the world today recognises and respects the country’s soft power and spiritual heritage, with yoga and meditation becoming part of everyday life in many parts of the world.
Referring to the Union Budget, Sinha said it proposes significant initiatives for the development of archaeological sites, preservation of monasteries and temples, expansion of Buddhist circuit corridors and digital archiving of spiritual landmarks. These measures, he said, would strengthen cultural awareness among the youth and promote national unity.
Expressing optimism about the future, the Lieutenant Governor said India has reached a decisive moment after a long period of struggle and is ready to guide the world once again. He voiced confidence that unity and collective resolve would help India achieve developed nation status by 2047 and restore its historic stature on the global stage.
The ceremony was also attended by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, along with saints, spiritual leaders, heads of religious organisations and followers of Swami Satyamitranand Giri Ji Maharaj.
