Jammu, December 20, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting of the subordinate departments of the Home Department at Lok Bhavan, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo; Principal Secretary, Home, Shri Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary, Finance, Shri Santosh D. Vaidya; Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari; Director General of Police, Prisons, Shri Deepak Kumar; Commandant General, Home Guards, Shri Abdul Ghani Mir; Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Shri Alok Kumar; Director, Sainik Welfare Department, Brigadier (Retd) Pankaj Chib; Director, Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL), Shri Om Prakash, and other senior officers.
During the meeting, a detailed review was undertaken of the budgetary allocations and expenditure position of Prisons, Prosecution, Home Guards/CD and SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Sainik Welfare, and the Advisory Board under the Public Safety Act for the Budget Estimates 2025–26.
The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed the progress of key ongoing projects, including the construction of a high-security prison at Mahanpur in Kathua, establishment of a Cyber Division at FSL Jammu, upgradation of the Cyber Division at FSL Srinagar, and construction of bunkers in border districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Directing the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized coordinated efforts to further strengthen various wings of the Home Department. He also instructed for enhanced sensitization of prison officers and staff, along with frequent inspections, monitoring and surveillance of prisons across the Union Territory.
