Jammu, January 21, 2026: ANB: Jammu and Kashmir Lok Bhavan celebrated the Statehood Day of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya at Jammu, highlighting the cultural diversity and rich heritage of the three northeastern states.
The cultural evening, organised under the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, brought together students, security personnel and residents from Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya living in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended greetings to the people of the three states on the occasion. He paid tributes to eminent personalities from Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya and recalled their significant contributions to nation-building.
The Lieutenant Governor said the cultural diversity and rich heritage of the three states serve as powerful drivers of regional growth, fostering innovation, economic vitality and social resilience. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region has witnessed historic development that has driven economic growth, ensured peace and preserved its unique cultural identity.
He further noted that improved infrastructure, enhanced connectivity, heritage conservation and the establishment of premier educational institutions have strengthened local economies, attracted tourism and boosted the hospitality sector. These initiatives, he added, are inspiring the youth to innovate while remaining rooted in their cultural traditions and reviving art and crafts.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed hope that Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya would continue to achieve new milestones of progress in the years to come. ANB
