Baltal, July 1: In a bid to safeguard the sanctity and security of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2025), Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday apprehended an individual for attempting to bypass mandatory security protocols using a forged Yatra Registration Card. The accused has been identified as Shivam Mittal, son of Krishan Mittal, a resident of Dwarka Puri, Jagadhri, in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district. Police said Mittal used fraudulent means to obtain a fake Yatra Card and attempted to deceive security personnel at Baltal in order to gain unauthorized access to the pilgrimage route. According to news service, associated news bureau, ANB, Following the detection, a case (FIR No. 13/2025) has been registered at Police Station Sonamarg under relevant sections of law. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the matter. Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the integrity and security of the annual pilgrimage and warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals involved in fraudulent or unlawful activities.
