Jammu, January 17, 2026: The Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr Ajay Shanker Singh, virtually inaugurated the offices of the Controller of Accounts, Deputy Controller of Accounts and Pay and Accounts Office of the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department at Jammu under the Departmental Accounting Organisation of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The inauguration marked the formal operationalisation of the CA, DCA and PAO offices under DAO, MHA, Jammu, which have been functioning since September 2024. The establishment of these offices represents a key milestone in strengthening the accounting and financial management system of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The virtual inaugural function, held on January 16, was attended by Chief Controller of Accounts Pankaj Sharma, Controller of Accounts N P Singh, Deputy Controller of Accounts Hridesh Patel and V Muthu Kumar.
At Jammu, the event was hosted by Controller of Accounts Shakeel Maqbool, Deputy Controller of Accounts Lovepreet Kour and Senior Accounts Officer Dalip Kumar Bhat, along with officers and staff from RPAO BSF, RPAO CRPF, PAOs of the J&K Home Department, Srinagar, and representatives of Internal Audit Parties.
The establishment of the CA, DCA and PAO offices is expected to enhance financial governance by ensuring timely accounting and payment functions, improving coordination, and promoting greater transparency and efficiency in financial operations of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Union Territory.
The inaugural programme was followed by a review meeting chaired by the Controller of Accounts, J&K Home Department, with PAOs, RPAOs and Internal Audit Parties across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on improved coordination and further strengthening of accounting and audit mechanisms.
