Rakesh Mahajan calls on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi


New Delhi, January 27, 2026: Rakesh Mahajan, Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence here and held wide-ranging discussions on the prevailing political situation in the Union Territory and the party’s future organisational roadmap.
During the meeting, Mahajan conveyed his gratitude to the Union Home Minister for the confidence reposed in him earlier when he was considered as a Rajya Sabha candidate. He also thanked the central leadership for its continued guidance and support to the party’s leadership in Jammu and Kashmir.
The discussion focused in detail on issues related to the Pir Panjal region, including its political dynamics, grassroots challenges and measures required for organisational strengthening. The leaders also reviewed the evolving political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and deliberated on preparations for upcoming political developments.
Mahajan briefed the Union Home Minister on the ongoing organisational activities of the BJP in the Union Territory, including grassroots outreach programmes aimed at strengthening public connect. Strategies to further consolidate the party’s organisational base were also discussed.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the efforts of the BJP leadership in Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to political stability, development and a strong organisational presence in the region.
