Srinagar, Oct 13: ANB: In a significant political development, Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and senior leader Sat Sharma (CA) on Monday filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections at the office of the Returning Officer in Srinagar.
Sat Sharma was accompanied by Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, Nominated Member of Parliament Rajiya Sabha Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, and other senior BJP leaders, reflecting a strong display of unity and confidence within the party ranks.
Amid chants of support and a visible show of organizational strength, Sharma submitted his nomination papers as the official BJP candidate from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB Correspondent, Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination, Sharma expressed gratitude to the party leadership for reposing faith in him and reaffirmed his commitment to represent the aspirations of the people of J&K in the Upper House.
“The BJP under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed Jammu and Kashmir through unprecedented development and inclusive governance. I am deeply humbled to take forward this mission of progress and peace,” Sharma said.
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing the media, hailed Sat Sharma as a dedicated worker and an experienced leader who has consistently served the party and the people. “His nomination symbolizes the BJP’s trust in grassroots leadership and its commitment to strengthening democracy in J&K,” Dr. Singh remarked.
Er. Gulam Ali Khatana also termed the occasion a “moment of pride” for the party and lauded Sharma’s contribution to the organization and public welfare.
The nomination process marks a key step in the BJP’s preparations for the Rajya Sabha elections, as the party continues to consolidate its political presence in Jammu and Kashmir following its robust organizational expansion across the Union Territory. ANB
