Srinagar, June 23: Several deputations, public representatives and legislators called on Minister Satish Sharma on Tuesday, highlighting a wide range of public grievances, developmental requirements and sector-specific issues from their respective constituencies. A deputation from Kulingam in Kupwara raised concerns related to the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, enhancement of sports infrastructure, improvement of transport facilities and execution of pending development works. The delegation sought early government intervention to strengthen public service delivery and expedite developmental projects. A delegation of Rehbar-e-Khel also met the Minister and raised issues concerning their regularisation, service conditions and other long-pending service matters. The members urged the government to address their genuine demands at the earliest. Representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir Wholesale Meat Dealers Association highlighted logistical and regulatory challenges affecting the inter-state transportation of meat into the Union Territory. They sought measures to streamline the transportation process, safeguard the interests of traders and ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers. Legislators representing Kupwara, Langate, Beerwah, Lal Chowk, Chadoora, Khansahib, Rajpura and Sonawari also met the Minister and projected constituency-specific issues. They sought early completion of key infrastructure projects, strengthening of essential public services, improvement of transport and sports infrastructure, and effective implementation of welfare and development schemes. They also stressed the need for greater coordination among government departments to address public concerns. Giving a patient hearing to the delegations and legislators, Satish Sharma assured them that all genuine issues would be examined on priority and appropriate directions would be issued to the concerned departments for prompt action. He reiterated the government's commitment to transparent, responsive and people-centric governance, with emphasis on timely grievance redressal and balanced development across Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister also directed the concerned officers to maintain close coordination with public representatives and stakeholders, regularly monitor the progress of developmental works and ensure time-bound resolution of public grievances. He said strengthening public service delivery, improving infrastructure and addressing the concerns of all sections of society remain among the government's top priorities. The deputations and legislators expressed gratitude to the Minister for giving them a patient hearing and assuring expeditious consideration of the issues raised during the meeting.
