Srinagar, October 18: Chief Minister today underscored the crucial need to integrate patient care with patient safety to strengthen healthcare delivery systems across Jammu and Kashmir. He was addressing the inaugural session of the National Conference on Patient Safety at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
In his address, the Chief Minister said that quality healthcare remains incomplete without ensuring patient safety, emphasizing that hospitals must adopt best practices and innovative management strategies to safeguard patients and improve clinical outcomes.
He urged for actionable measures to enhance safety standards across hospitals in the Union Territory and stressed that patient safety should be viewed as a shared responsibility among all healthcare stakeholders.
Appreciating the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) for organizing a conference of national relevance, the Chief Minister lauded the institution’s efforts in fostering a culture of safety, learning, and accountability in healthcare.
He further added that such initiatives not only enrich professional understanding but also contribute to building a robust and trustworthy healthcare system in Jammu and Kashmir.
