CM Omar Abdullah Deputes Deputy CM to Gulmarg as Massive Rescue Operation Follows Gondola Disruption
Srinagar/Gulmarg, May 25: On the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary on Monday visited Gulmarg to personally monitor the rescue operations after the temporary disruption of the Gondola service caused by a technical fault.
MLA Gulmarg Pirzada Farooq Ahmed Shah, along with senior civil and police officials, remained present at the site to closely supervise the situation and coordinate the ongoing rescue efforts.
Officials said the Jammu and Kashmir Government is continuously monitoring the situation after the cable car service was halted due to a technical issue. Authorities confirmed that all gondola cabins remain secure while trained rescue teams are actively engaged in the safe evacuation of stranded tourists.
During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the rescue measures underway and instructed all concerned departments to ensure a swift, coordinated and safe evacuation process for the remaining passengers.
According to officials, the majority of stranded cabins have already been cleared, while efforts are continuing to safely evacuate those still awaiting rescue.
The administration maintained that the situation is fully under control and appealed to the public not to panic.
