Ramban/Udhampur, Aug 31: ANB ; Chief Minister today reached Ramban to take stock of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and personally reviewed the road condition and ongoing restoration works at multiple sites.
The Chief Minister later inspected another stretch of the highway at Udhampur, one of the worst-affected sections this time due to landslides and heavy rains. During the on-spot assessment, he directed officials to expedite restoration work and ensure round-the-clock efforts to make the road traffic-worthy at the earliest.
Taking note of hundreds of drivers and passengers stranded on different stretches, the Chief Minister instructed the administration to make immediate arrangements for food, drinking water and other essential facilities until the highway is restored. According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB Correspondent, He stressed coordinated action by all concerned departments, assuring that the government is closely monitoring the situation to provide maximum relief and restore connectivity at the earliest.
