Srinagar, Aug 31: ANB: Moshin Ali, a budding water sports talent from Jammu and Kashmir, is on cloud nine after Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called to congratulate him for winning a Gold Medal at the Khelo India Water Sports Festival. According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB, Mosin Ali, who was also mentioned in the PM’s radio address Mann Ki Baat, said the conversation was nothing short of a dream come true. “I was shocked when I received the phone call. He congratulated me and told me to keep doing well. He asked me about the support I received. It was a very proud moment,” he said.
Expressing gratitude, the young athlete added, “I am really happy that the Khelo India event was held here for the first time. We are thankful to the Government of India for this opportunity. Speaking to the PM has motivated me even more.”
Looking ahead, Ali said his ambition is to represent India at the Olympics. “My dream is to win a medal for the country on the biggest stage,” he remarked with determination.
The Khelo India Water Sports Festival has opened new avenues for J&K’s sporting talent, and Ali’s achievement is being seen as an inspiration for young athletes across the region. ANB
