DIPR Organises Wellness Training on Breath, Mind and Meditation


JAMMU, January 15:
The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised a two-day workshop on Holistic Wellness: The Science of Breath, Mind and Meditation at the DIPR Auditorium here.
The workshop was attended by Director Information Nitish Rajora, Joint Director (Headquarters) Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director, Jammu Division, Deepak Dubey, besides officers and officials of the Directorate and its Jammu divisional office.
The sessions were conducted by renowned dietician, yoga teacher and chakra meditation expert Dr Mitali Gupta, who combined scientific understanding with ancient yogic practices to make the sessions interactive, practical and impactful. Through her experiential teaching approach, she guided participants in understanding the deeper connection between the body, breath and mind.
A special highlight of the programme was a live practical demonstration by Dev, an underprivileged student of Dr Mitali Gupta. His confident and disciplined performance was widely appreciated and showcased how yoga and meditation can empower individuals and support inclusive growth.
During the two-day programme, participants gained valuable insights into the interrelationship between physical health, breathing patterns and mental well-being. They were introduced to practical techniques for calming the mind, regulating emotions, reducing stress and achieving inner balance through conscious breathing.
The foundational sessions focused on building self-awareness, emotional regulation and holistic healing. On the concluding day, sessions on meditation, chakra meditation and power nap techniques were conducted. Simple meditation practices were taught to help participants improve concentration and mental clarity, while chakra meditation highlighted the importance of balancing the body’s energy centres for emotional stability and inner harmony. Power nap techniques were also shared to promote deep relaxation and quick rejuvenation.
The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, underlining the importance of mental wellness, mindful living and compassionate learning in building a healthier and more balanced society.
Speaking on the concluding day, Joint Director (Headquarters) Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina appreciated the initiative, stating that the workshop had significantly contributed to enhancing the understanding of the link between mental and physical well-being. He expressed hope that the participants would incorporate the practices of yoga and meditation into their daily lives for a healthier lifestyle, adding that these disciplines have gained global recognition for promoting overall wellness.
Earlier, during the inaugural session, Joint Director, Jammu Division, Deepak Dubey welcomed the participants and highlighted the vital role of yoga and meditation in developing a strong body and mind and in encouraging a disciplined way of life.
