Div Com Calls for Seamless Coordination as Kashmir Gears Up for First International Film Festival

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 3: As Kashmir gears up to host the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJ&K), Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Thursday called for seamless inter-departmental coordination, clear ownership of responsibilities and timely information sharing to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the mega event. The Divisional Commissioner chaired a high-level meeting at the Auditorium of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) to review the final preparations and arrangements for the festival. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, Secretary Information, Director DIPR, SSP Srinagar, SSP Security, SSP Traffic, heads of departments, nodal officers, liaison officers and senior officials of the Information Department. Reviewing the preparations, Garg stressed the need for disciplined execution, close coordination and a strong sense of responsibility among all officers assigned duties for the festival. He directed the Nodal and Liaison Officers to take complete ownership of their respective assignments while maintaining a broader understanding of the overall operational requirements. Emphasising the importance of real-time coordination, the Divisional Commissioner called for continuous information sharing among departments and field teams, directing officers to ensure that there were no communication gaps. He maintained that timely exchange of information and prompt response to emerging requirements would be crucial for the seamless conduct of the festival. The meeting reviewed arrangements covering the entire guest facilitation and event-management chain, including arrival and transportation, accommodation, opening and closing ceremonies, sightseeing and guided tours, film screenings and participation at various festival venues. Garg also took a detailed assessment of preparations at the airport, transportation arrangements, guest accommodation, guided tours, film screenings, floating cinema, parking facilities, beautification of parks and venues, help desks, selfie points, stalls and other allied arrangements. During the meeting, the Director Information briefed the Nodal Officers about their respective responsibilities, key action points and operational requirements. The responsibilities cover the complete movement and facilitation chain, beginning from Jammu Airport and extending to Srinagar Airport and major festival venues, including SKICC and INOX. The briefing was aimed at ensuring that every officer remained fully aware of his or her assigned role, scope of responsibility and the coordination required with other departments and field teams, thereby establishing a unified operational framework for the festival. The Nodal Officers apprised the meeting of the arrangements made at their respective deployment locations and briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the progress achieved and the measures being undertaken for the successful conduct of the event. As preparations enter the final phase, the administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a professionally coordinated, welcoming and memorable experience for filmmakers, delegates, guests and audiences attending the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir. The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, SSP Srinagar and other officers assured full cooperation from their respective departments and reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination for the smooth and successful conduct of the festival. —ANB
