Dr Andrabi was interacting with media persons at Dak Bungalow, Kulgam, in the presence of BJP District President Farooq Ahmad Rather, General Secretary Mubarak Ahmad Khanday, and other party office bearers.
Addressing the media, she said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Union Budget prioritises grassroots economic stability, infrastructure-driven growth, and industrial capacity expansion. She noted that inclusive provisions supporting employment, agriculture, household purchasing power, and universal services have been given priority.
Dr Andrabi said the budget aims to sustain an economic growth rate of over seven percent, positioning India among the fastest-growing major global economies.
Highlighting provisions for Jammu and Kashmir, she said the Union Territory’s allocation has been increased by ₹2,000 crore this year. According to her, the Central Government has earmarked ₹43,290 crore for Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring its commitment to accelerating development and economic progress in the region.
She further stated that the ₹40,000 crore outlay under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme and the launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 would enhance India’s technological capabilities and strengthen its position in the global semiconductor sector.
Dr Andrabi added that investments in fast-track railway infrastructure, highways, and waterways are expected to significantly improve connectivity. She also highlighted reforms in rural agriculture, healthcare, and education as key measures likely to deliver long-term benefits, while initiatives supporting textiles, handicrafts, and rural livelihoods are set to expand access to global markets.
