GC Srinagar Clinch Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament Title

Srinagar, August 11: The grand finale of the Inter-Battalion Cricket Tournament, organised by the 54th Battalion, CRPF, was held in Srinagar today, with 24 teams from the Srinagar Sector participating in the tournament. The participating teams displayed commendable sportsmanship, discipline and athletic talent throughout the competition. Professor Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Shri Ravi Prakash, Commandant, 54th Battalion, CRPF, along with senior officers, personnel and other dignitaries, was also present. The final was played between GC Srinagar and the 35th Battalion. GC Srinagar delivered an impressive performance to emerge as the tournament champions, while the 35th Battalion finished as runners-up. During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest presented trophies and medals to the winner and runner-up teams. He congratulated all the players for their performance and sportsmanship and appreciated the organisers for conducting the tournament successfully. Shri Ravi Prakash congratulated all participating teams and players and emphasised the importance of sporting events in promoting physical fitness, discipline, team spirit, camaraderie and morale among CRPF personnel.
