Kashmiri Pandits Celebrate Janmashtami with Religious Fervour in Srinagar

Srinagar, September 4: Kashmiri Pandits celebrated Janmashtami with religious fervour in Srinagar on Friday, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna with a grand procession through the city centre. The procession commenced from the historic Ganpatyar Temple in Habba Kadal and passed through Kralkhud and Barbarshah before reaching the iconic Clock Tower at Lal Chowk. The event was held amid heightened security arrangements. A large number of devotees, including women and children, participated in the celebrations. Many children dressed as Lord Krishna, while devotees sang devotional bhajans and danced alongside the decorated chariot as the procession made its way through the city. The celebrations added a vibrant religious and cultural atmosphere to Srinagar, with devotees expressing their faith and devotion through prayers, music and traditional festivities. Janmashtami is observed by devotees across the country to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, a revered figure in Hindu tradition.
