Omar Abdullah Meets Amit Shah to Discuss Statehood Restoration and Key J&K Issues

NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 04: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed a range of important issues concerning the Union Territory. The discussions centred on the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules, rationalisation of reservations, and other matters relating to public welfare and development. During the meeting, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also briefed the Union Home Minister on the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), which is scheduled to begin in Srinagar on September 7. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Amit Shah for the timely assistance and support being extended by the Union Government to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of flood-related damage reported from several areas. The meeting also provided an opportunity to deliberate on issues of public importance and the developmental priorities of Jammu and Kashmir. ANB
