LG Kavinder Pays Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Good Governance Day , Recalls Vajpayee’s visionary leadership and tenure marked by nation-building and people-centric governance

Jammu, December 25, 2025:
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday paid tributes to noted socialist leader and former President of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Students’ Union, Babu Markandeya Singh, recalling his lifelong dedication to youth empowerment, social justice, and nation-building.
Addressing a commemoration event held in Varanasi, the Lieutenant Governor reflected on the life and contributions of Babu Markandeya Singh, describing him as a guiding force for generations of young people. He said that Singh inspired the youth through determination, wisdom, and unwavering commitment, encouraging them to actively participate in the nation’s progress.
The Lieutenant Governor observed that Babu Markandeya Singh symbolized integrity and purity in public life. He noted that Singh’s life reflected a rare blend of scientific temper and deep humanitarian values, rooted in the principles of peace, social justice, human dignity, and selfless service to society.
Highlighting his ideological foundations, the Lieutenant Governor said that Babu Markandeya Singh was a true disciple of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and faithfully carried forward his vision. He added that Malaviya had consistently emphasized quality education, skill development, and independent thinking as essential pillars for socio-economic progress and the creation of a welfare state.
Babu Markandeya Singh, he said, embodied these ideals throughout his life and devoted himself to social reform and national development.
Speaking on the broader vision of national growth, the Lieutenant Governor said that India is steadily moving towards a new phase of historic development, guided by clear objectives of sustainable growth, capacity building, skill development, and equal opportunities for all. He emphasized that expanding the frontiers of knowledge, innovation, and creativity is key to building strong intellectual capital and achieving inclusive progress.
