Budgam, December 25: Police in Budgam today observed Thana Diwas across all Police Stations and Police Posts of the district to strengthen police–public interaction and address community concerns.
The programme was held at Police Stations Magam, Chadoora, Charar-i-Shareif, Khansahib, Budgam, Beerwah and Khag, besides Police Posts Pakherpora, Soibugh, Humhama, Narbal, Hardupanzo, Waterhail and Mouchwa.
Chaired by the respective jurisdictional officers, the meetings witnessed active participation from local residents, who highlighted various policing-related issues and grievances. The officers assured the public that all genuine concerns would be addressed in a timely manner.
The chairing officers also urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and public order, preventing crime, combating drug abuse and identifying anti-social elements. Participants welcomed the initiative and expressed their support for strengthening community safety and harmony.
Thana Diwas is a flagship initiative of the J&K Police aimed at improving police–public relations, enhancing transparency and providing a structured platform for public engagement. Police reiterated its commitment to people-friendly policing and said such outreach programmes would continue to ensure effective and responsive service delivery.
