Jammu, 19 January 2026: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Monday laid the foundation stone of Meerz Health Care Hospital in Srinagar, marking a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.
The proposed facility will be a 180-bedded super speciality hospital, aimed at enhancing advanced medical services for residents of Srinagar city and adjoining districts.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the Meerz Group and all those associated with the project, extending his best wishes for its successful completion. He emphasised that private investment in healthcare infrastructure plays a crucial role in sustainable national development and serves as a lifeline for society.
Highlighting the importance of quality healthcare, Shri Manoj Sinha said that a robust healthcare system forms the foundation of a stable, vibrant and prosperous society. He urged leaders in the healthcare industry to focus on developing world-class infrastructure to build a resilient and healthy society.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Shri Farooq Mir, Managing Director, Meerz Group; Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board; Shri Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SSP Srinagar; Shri Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, along with senior officials, medical professionals and prominent citizens from various walks of life.
