LoP Sunil Sharma Accuses Opposition of Misleading Youth, Announces BJP Protests Across J&K

Jammu, October 10: Leader of the Opposition Sunil Kumar Sharma on Saturday accused opposition parties of misleading the youth and attempting to create political unrest in the country, alleging that certain political groups were aspiring for regime change in India along the lines of developments witnessed in Nepal and Bangladesh. Sharma alleged that parties that had repeatedly faced electoral defeats over the past 11 years were targeting constitutional institutions, including the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), to conceal their political failures. On the issue of voter identity, he asserted that Indian voters should not be portrayed as Pakistani or Bangladeshi nationals. He also challenged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to resign if he believed that the delimitation exercise had been manipulated. Sharma said the BJP had held a meeting with its district presidents and decided to launch protests across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir against the National Conference-led government. He alleged that the NC government was preoccupied with protecting its own political interests rather than addressing the problems of ordinary citizens, particularly the poor. The BJP, he said, would take to the streets to raise public concerns and act as the voice of people who, according to him, had been neglected by the present government. ANB
