M.K. Sinha Assumes Charge as ADG CID J&K; Nitish Kumar Appointed ADG Armed

Srinagar, August 28 (ANB): Senior IPS officer M.K. Sinha on Friday assumed charge as Additional Director General of Police (ADG), CID Jammu & Kashmir, succeeding Nitish Kumar, who has been transferred and posted as ADG Armed J&K. A 1996-batch IPS officer, Sinha was previously serving as ADG (Headquarters) at Police Headquarters, J&K. Shortly after taking charge at the CID Headquarters, he chaired a meeting with senior officers and reviewed the overall functioning of the wing, including the intelligence set-up and ongoing activities. Nitish Kumar, a 1999-batch IPS officer, was serving as ADG CID as well as Director of the State Investigation Agency (SIA), J&K, prior to his transfer. Senior officers at the CID Headquarters welcomed Sinha and assured him of their full cooperation and commitment in carrying out the responsibilities of the department. They also conveyed their best wishes to Nitish Kumar for his new assignment as ADG Armed J&K ANB
