Mamta Yadav Appointed Director Information, J&K

Srinagar, October 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a fresh administrative reshuffle, appointing Mamta Yadav, IAS (AGMUT: 2021), as Director, Information, Jammu and Kashmir. Yadav is a 2021-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the AGMUT cadre and a Direct Recruit who entered the service through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination. She was posted to Jammu and Kashmir on July 9, 2026, as part of the AGMUT cadre. During her approximately five-year career, she has served at different locations and handled various administrative responsibilities. Yadav holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics and is in Level 11 of the IAS Pay Matrix. As Director, Information, Yadav will oversee the functioning of the Information Department, which is responsible for disseminating government policies, programmes and public welfare initiatives, besides coordinating with the media and facilitating effective communication between the administration and the public. Her appointment is part of the latest administrative reshuffle ordered by the Jammu and Kashmir Government on October 7, under which responsibilities have been reassigned among officers with the aim of streamlining administration and strengthening the functioning of various departments.
