Mirza Kamil Chowk Set for Major Upgrade; CM Reviews Aali Masjid Restoration

Srinagar: ANB ; Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today laid the foundation stone for a comprehensive beautification, upgradation and junction improvement project at Mirza Kamil Chowk, Hawal, during his city tour. The project is aimed at improving traffic flow, enhancing road safety and strengthening public infrastructure at the prominent junction in Srinagar. During the tour, the Chief Minister also inspected the ongoing conservation and restoration work at the historic Aali Masjid in Eidgah, being carried out by the Department of Culture. Reaffirming the mosque’s historical, cultural and spiritual significance, Omar Abdullah directed the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the restoration work while adhering to established standards of heritage conservation. The Chief Minister emphasised that the restoration must be undertaken with due care to preserve the historic character, architectural integrity and cultural significance of Aali Masjid. ANB
