New Delhi, 17 November 2025 — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another key associate linked to the Red Fort area car bomb blast, intensifying its probe into the deadly attack that claimed 10 lives and injured 32.
The accused, identified as Jasir Bilal Wani, also known as Danish, was apprehended in Srinagar by an NIA team working on case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI. A resident of Qazigund in Jammu & Kashmir’s Anantnag district, Wani is alleged to have provided technical expertise to the terror module behind the bombing.
According to the NIA, preliminary investigations indicate that Wani had been involved in modifying drones and attempting to assemble improvised rockets to support terror operations. He is believed to have worked closely with Umar un Nabi, the terrorist who carried out the car blast near the Red Fort.
Officials said Wani played an “active co-conspirator” role in planning the attack, which shook the national capital earlier this year.
The agency continues to pursue multiple leads as part of its wider investigation into the conspiracy. Search operations are underway across several states to trace and identify all individuals connected to the plot.
