Secretary Tourism Reviews SKICC Operations, Focuses on Strengthening Its Global MICE Profile
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 13: Secretary Tourism Avny Lavasa on Tuesday reviewed the overall functioning, management and operational capabilities of the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Jammu and Kashmir’s premier government-run international convention facility.
During an introductory meeting, SKICC officials, led by Director General Mufti Fareedudin, welcomed the Secretary and briefed her on the Centre’s functioning, infrastructure and operational preparedness.
The SKICC management delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the Centre’s role as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE). The presentation also covered the current status of bookings, revenue structure and future development plans.
The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen the promotion of SKICC and expand awareness of its MICE-related services to enhance its profile as an international convention destination.
Secretary Tourism gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the management and assured all possible support to further strengthen the Centre’s functioning and position SKICC as a world-class convention destination.
Earlier, Lavasa toured the entire Centre to assess its facilities and infrastructure and gain first-hand insight into its operational capabilities.
She was accompanied by senior officers of the Tourism Department, including Special Secretary Tourism Suraj Parkash Rukwal, Director Planning and Director Finance.
