SIA Raids Three Locations in J&K , Crackdown on Terror Financing Network

Srinagar, July 11 (ANB):
In a decisive move against terror financing, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir on Thursday launched coordinated raids at three locations—Jammu, Doda, and Handwara—as part of its ongoing investigation into a cross-border conspiracy involving cryptocurrency-based terror funding.

The raids, conducted under FIR No. 12/2022 registered at Police Station CI-SIA Kashmir, were carried out under Sections 18, 38, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Sections 120B, 121, and 121A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to officials, the operation focused on individuals suspected of radicalizing youth and channeling illicit funds to terror organizations. The use of cryptocurrency to transfer funds has emerged as a key method employed by anti-national elements to bypass traditional financial scrutiny.

During the searches, the SIA recovered crucial digital devices and documents believed to be instrumental in advancing the investigation. Authorities described the seized material as a "significant breakthrough," expected to help trace additional operatives linked to the broader terror funding network.

A senior SIA official said the agency is determined to dismantle such covert systems that sustain terrorism and disrupt peace in the Union Territory. “These operations underscore our unwavering commitment to safeguarding national integrity and countering the misuse of digital platforms for terror financing,” the official stated.
