Waqf Board Finalizes Coordinated Arrangements for Eid Prayers Across Kashmir

Srinagar, May 25: Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, on Monday chaired a high-level Eid preparedness meeting in Srinagar with senior administrative officials, representatives of various departments, and Imams and Khateebs from prominent shrines and mosques managed by the Waqf Board. The meeting focused on reviewing and finalizing comprehensive arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of Eid prayers and hassle-free facilities for devotees across Kashmir during the festival. During the deliberations, detailed discussions were held on coordination among different departments, including security, traffic management, health services, consumer affairs, and civic amenities, to streamline services at major Eid congregational sites. Addressing the meeting, Dr Andrabi emphasized the need for an integrated and coordinated work plan involving the Waqf Board and all concerned departments to ensure effective management of Eid arrangements at all shrines and mosques. “Coordinated arrangements for Eid prayers have been finalized,” Dr Andrabi said after the meeting. She also appreciated the continued cooperation and coordination extended by various departments over the past several years in making Eid arrangements successful. Among those present at the meeting were Additional Commissioner Kashmir Ikramul Tak, ADDC Ganderbal Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Special Officer Waqf Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, ACR Budgam Ms Afroza, SSP Traffic Aijaz Ahmad, SSP (SO to IGP Security) Rakesh Kumar, Additional SO Security Farooq Ahmad, Additional SSP Baramulla Ghulam Geelani, DySP Headquarters Srinagar Syed Saleeth Shah, Joint Controller Tanveer Ahmad, Dy Director Consumer Affairs Hilal Ahmad Mir, Deputy Director Bilal Ahmad, Dy Director Health Services Dr Mohammed Amin, BMO Hazratbal Dr Moid, besides senior engineers and executive officers from various departments. Religious scholars and preachers attending the meeting included Imam-o-Khateeb Asar-e-Shareef Hazratbal Molana Riyazul Haq, Imam-o-Khateeb Asar-e-Shareef Kabamarg Molana Sheikh Abdul Raheed Dawoodi, Imam-o-Khateeb Charar-e-Shareef Molvi Amir-ud-Din, Imam-o-Khateeb Peer Dastageer Sahib Khanyar Syed Mudasir Geelani, Imam-o-Khateeb Syed Yaqoob Sahib Sonwar, and Peerzada Mohammad Hussain Qadri.
