CM Omar Abdullah Dedicates Rs 86 Crore Development Projects in Pulwama, Reviews Ongoing Works

Pulwama, September 16: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday dedicated a number of development projects worth over Rs 86 crore to the people of Pulwama during his visit to the district. The projects cover several key sectors, including healthcare, drinking water, road infrastructure, tribal welfare, agriculture, animal husbandry and horticulture, and are aimed at strengthening basic infrastructure and improving public services in the district. Among the major projects dedicated to the public are the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) at Ratnipora and a 2x60-metre-span bridge over Romshi Nallah. The healthcare facility is expected to improve access to medical services, while the bridge will address longstanding connectivity requirements and facilitate smoother movement of people and goods. The projects are also expected to support local economic activity and provide a boost to trade and the horticulture, dairy and industrial sectors. Earlier, the Chief Minister chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing developmental works across Pulwama. He directed the concerned departments to expedite the execution of projects and remove bottlenecks to ensure timely completion. Ongoing infrastructure works were directed to be completed before the onset of the cold season, with special emphasis placed on expediting projects being executed under the Special Assistance for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, Advisor to the Chief Minister, local MLAs and senior officers of the administration. The Chief Minister assured that the district’s key developmental requirements would receive priority attention and stressed the need for timely completion of projects to ensure their benefits reach the people.
