DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security Preparedness in Budgam, Stresses Intensified Action Against Terror Networks


Budgam, 25 February: Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat today chaired a comprehensive security review meeting in Budgam to assess the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of the district police.
The meeting was attended by Special DGP Coordination S.J.M. Geelani; IGP Kashmir Zone V. K. Birdi; DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajeev Pandey; SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar, along with Additional SP Budgam, SDPOs, DySsP SOG, SHOs, DOs and other senior officers of the district.
During the meeting, SSP Budgam briefed the DGP on counter-terror operations, law and order management, crime prevention measures, action against drug trafficking, area domination plans and the overall security scenario in the district.
The DGP reviewed ongoing kinetic and non-kinetic operations, anti-terror strategies and measures aimed at dismantling the separatist and terror ecosystem. He stressed the need for actionable intelligence at the field level and directed officers to maintain sustained operational momentum. Emphasising current security challenges, he called for the adoption of modern and non-conventional tactics to neutralise Pakistan-backed terrorists.
He urged a focused approach against terrorists and their support networks to eliminate militancy and restore lasting peace in the district.
To strengthen the security grid, the DGP underscored the importance of seamless coordination with sister agencies, effective area domination and close surveillance on traditional terror sympathisers and separatist networks. Reviewing law and order measures, he stressed preventive action against miscreants, greater public engagement in policing initiatives and steps to bridge the gap between police and the community.
Concluding the meeting, the DGP directed officers to continue counter-terror operations with renewed commitment to ensure long-term peace and stability in Budgam.
